Among the increasing number of pollutions found in the sea, plastic bottles account the most. People are consuming plastic bottles in a staggering pace. It is projected to increase from 1 million bottles per minute globally to 1.2 million units within the next 10 years and producing more than 500 billion bottles every year worldwide.
Scientific studies have found microplastics in 114 aquatic species. Through consuming some of these species, there is possibility that small portion of microplastics may end up in our body system. While we try to decrease the usage of plastic bottles, we also need to find solutions for the existing used plastic bottles. When Shiny introduced its ECO Line, Shiny had adopted recycled PET (main composite of plastic bottles) in its rPET products that substitute regular plastic
material to respond to the environmental threat we are all facing with.
